MISSION VIEJO : Trustee Picked for School Boards Assn.
A board member of the Saddleback Community College District has been appointed to serve on the Orange County School Boards Assn.
It will be the second year that Marcia Milchiker, a Saddleback trustee since 1985, has represented the area.
“I am pleased to continue to represent community college trustees on the Orange County School Boards Assn.,” Milchiker said. “I believe strongly in education. Our schools and colleges must be maintained and strengthened if our state and its citizens are to enjoy prosperity and growth as in the past.”
In addition to her duties with the Saddleback board, on which she has served as president, vice president and clerk, Milchiker is also a former officer and founder of the California Elected Women’s Assn. for Education and Research. She also holds a position on the South County Board of United Way and Women’s Roundtable of Orange County.
The Laguna Hills resident was officially installed at the Orange County School Board Assn.’s May 11 meeting.
