Share

Residents in some areas of Diamond Bar will pay lower taxes on city landscaping services in 1992-93 than last year.

The City Council voted 5-0 Tuesday to charge some property owners in mainly residential areas of northeast and southwest Diamond Bar about 5% less than last year for landscaping services on mostly public lands.

The council will levy $73.50 on each of 1,250 parcels in the northeast area, compared to $77 it charged last year. In the southwest, 550 parcels will be taxed at a rate of $220.50, compared to last year’s levy of $228.

The taxes will generate $121,154 in the southwest and $91,781 in the northeast. The city plans to build a children’s park with some of the funds collected in the northeast.

Any changes in a third assessment area, which covers the remainder of the city, will be taken up at the June 16 council meeting.
