Manager Buck Rodgers was transferred from Centinela Hospital Medical Center’s intensive care unit to a private room Monday, a day after he underwent six hours of surgery to repair injuries he suffered in last Thursday’s bus accident.

A hospital spokeswoman said Rodgers has been upgraded to satisfactory condition.

Lewis Yocum, a member of the three-surgeon team that worked an hour on Rodgers’ left knee and five hours to reassemble Rodgers’ shattered right elbow, said Rodgers will be unable to bear weight on his knee for two months.

Dan O’Brien, the Angels’ senior vice president for operations, said Monday a roster move involving first baseman Alvin Davis will hinge on Davis’ condition today. Davis suffered a bruised kidney in the accident and spent Thursday night in Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, N.J. However, tests at Centinela Hospital Medical Center on Sunday showed no blood in his urine, which would be a sign of extensive kidney problems.
