Pasadena’s Cinco de Mayo celebration, canceled May 2 and 3 because of the riots in the wake of the Rodney G. King verdicts, has been rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday.

The celebration--commemorating the victory of Mexican troops against the French in 1862--will run from noon to 6 p.m. both days at Memorial Park, 85 E. Holly St.

Free entertainment includes mariachi music, cumbias and a 4 p.m. Sunday performance by Tierra, an East Los Angeles band. A barbecued chicken dinner will be available with proceeds to benefit El Centro de Accion Social’s educational programs for the community.
