Simi Valley residents who want to serve on the Citizens Election Advisory Commission must submit their applications by Friday, city officials said.

Commission members review campaign finance statements from candidates and committees, assist in setting up orientation briefings for candidates and political committees, and inform candidates and committees about state election laws.

There are openings for three regular commission members and three alternates.

Any registered voter who lives within the Simi Valley city limits can serve on the commission, except those who plan to run for City Council and those who are members of a candidate or ballot measure’s campaign committee. City employees are also excluded.
