LOS ANGELES : Elizabeth Taylor Gives $250,000 to AIDS Agency
Elizabeth Taylor has donated $250,000 to AIDS Project Los Angeles.
The service organization said Wednesday it was one of the largest individual donations it has ever received. The largest was a $1-million gift from entertainment executive David Geffen earlier this year.
APLA provides assistance ranging from health, mental health, dental and legal services to insurance and public benefits counseling. Taylor helped organized APLA’s first Commitment to Life dinner in 1985, was honored at the event in 1986 and is member of the agency’s Board of Governors. She is also a founder of the American Foundation for AIDS Research.
