Solid Sunny Wins at Belmont

NEW YORK — Solid Sunny, favorite in the field of five, came from off the pace to win the $30,000 High Bright Purse by 2 1/4 lengths Thursday at Belmont.
Ridden by Chris Antley and carrying 119 pounds, Solid Sunny won his second in a row and fourth in 10 starts this year.
The Florida-bred 4-year-old gelding covered six furlongs in 1:09 3/5.
Secret Alert, 121, ridden by John Velazquez, closed well to be runner-up, a neck ahead of Red Hot Red, 119, with Jose Santos riding.
Solid Sunny earned $18,000 for owner Robert J. Bauer and returned $4.60, $2.60 and $2.10. Secret Alert paid $3.80 and $2.20 and Red Hot Red returned $2.40.
