Crystalizing: Directors Robert Altman and Francis Coppola and actress Tyne Daly will be among the presenters June 12 at the 16th annual Women in Film Crystal Awards, which honor those who have helped expand the role of women in the movie industry. Altman will present an award to Lily Tomlin and Coppola will honor “Rambling Rose” director Martha Coolidge. Daly will give NPR correspondent Nina Totenberg the special Woman of Courage award. Actress Diahann Carroll and writer Maya Angelou will also be honored at the ceremony in the Beverly Hilton. In addition, Barbra Streisand will hand out certificates of recognition to more than 30 American women who directed feature films between January, 1991 and this month.
