SPORTS ON WEEKEND TV : They’ll Be Handing Out Titles

As the NBA Finals continue, titles will be decided in horse racing’s Belmont Stakes, tennis’s French Open, baseball’s College World Series and football’s World League on a championship television sports weekend.

* Pro Basketball: The scene shifts to Portland as the Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls play Game 3 of the NBA Finals Sunday at 4 p.m. on NBC (Channels 4, 36 and 39).

* Tennis: Monica Seles will meet Steffi Graf in the French Open’s women’s final, which will air delayed today at noon on NBC. The men’s final, also delayed, between Jim Courier and Petr Korda, will air at 8 a.m. Sunday on NBC.

* College Baseball: CBS (Channels 2 and 8) will give the title game of the College World Series, between Pepperdine and the winner of Friday’s Cal State Fullerton-Miami (Fla.) game, major league treatment as Greg Gumbel, Jim Kaat and Lesley Visser report from Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, today at 10 a.m.

* Major League Baseball: The slumping Angels will visit the Milwaukee Brewers today at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on KTLA Channel 5. ESPN’s 5 p.m. game on Sunday will match the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals.

* Horse Racing: Post time for today’s Belmont Stakes, the last of the Triple Crown races, is 2:30 p.m. Coverage begins at 1:30 on ABC (Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42). ESPN will air a Belmont Stakes special at 12:30 p.m.

* Golf: All three professional tours will be on the air. The third round of the PGA’s Memorial Tournament starts on ABC today at 11:30 a.m. and the final round airs Sunday at noon. CBS has the LPGA’s McDonald’s Championship today at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. ESPN will carry the PaineWebber Invitational Senior tournament today at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m.

* Pro Football: The Orlando Thunder will face the Sacramento Surge in World Bowl ’92 today at 5 p.m. on USA.
