Antoelope Valley : Crime Rate Rises Sharply in First Quarter of Year
Crime in the Antelope Valley increased 29% during the first quarter of the year and rose 17% even when adjusted for population growth, according to new Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department statistics.
Between January and March this year, 3,739 serious crimes were reported in the Antelope Valley, compared to 2,909 during the same period a year ago. Crime was up in seven of eight categories, including murder, robbery, assault and burglary. Rape was the only category to decline.
