Boake A. Sells has been ousted as chairman and chief executive of Revco D. S. Inc., the Twinsburg, Ohio-based drugstore chain which emerged last week from bankruptcy court protection.

Revco’s board said it and Sells had “fundamental differences” over management of the chain of 1,150 drugstores in nine states.

Revco said it would begin a search for a new chairman. In the meantime, a five-member executive committee will lead the company and report to the executive committee of the board.

Sells, 54, had been chairman since Oct. 5, 1987.
