In your Guidebook for “Discovering the Homespun Gentility of Lisbon” (May 17), you mentioned the Hotel Principe Real at 53 Rua da Alegria, which charged a rate of $145 per night for two, including a continental breakfast. In October, 1973, my wife and I stayed there and also heartily recommend it. Breakfast was served on the fifth floor and from there we had a beautiful panoramic view of the city. However, what should be of interest to your readers is that the same $145 accommodations only cost us the great total of $12.
