MTV’s Picks: “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” was the big winner at the first annual MTV Movie Awards, which was taped Saturday and will air on MTV Wednesday at 8 p.m. The film won for best movie, Arnold Schwarzenegger was named best male performer, Linda Hamilton won for best female performance and most desirable female, Edward Furlong won the breakthrough performance award for his role in the film and (big surprise) “Terminator 2” also won for best action sequence. The award for best kiss went to Macauley Culkin and Anna Chlumsky for their peck in “My Girl”; Mike Myers and Dana Carvey were named best on-screen duo for “Wayne’s World.” About 60,000 MTV viewers voted via a 900 number or balloting at Blockbuster video stores to determine the winners. Proceeds from the 900 number go to AIDS research through AmFar.
