Greg Patton, who guided the UC Irvine men’s tennis team to the national top 25 in all but three of his 13 years as coach, resigned to become the men’s tennis coach at Boise State. Patton, 39, was voted national coach of the year in 1987 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Assn.
