Woman Shot in Head Outside Grocery Dies
A 24-year-old San Diego homemaker has died of wounds suffered last week when she was shot in the head a few blocks from her home, official said.
Judith Lynn Madueno died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at UC San Diego Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized since the midnight shooting June 10, police and the medical examiner’s office said.
The woman, her brother, Alex Madueno, 31, of San Diego, and Carolyn Berry, 46, of San Diego, were on the sidewalk in front of a grocery store in the 3800 block of Ocean View Blvd. when a man pulled out a gun and opened fire, police Lt. John Welter said.
Alex Madueno was shot in the face and Berry was hit in the foot.
No motive is known, Welter said.
