PLEASANT VALLEY : Hearing Tonight on Schools Budget
- Share via
Pleasant Valley School District officials will hold a public hearing tonight on the district’s proposed $25.3-million budget for 1992-93.
Budget Director Jan Maez said the spending plan does not reflect any of the anticipated state budget cuts, which could mean $2.5 million to $3 million less for the district.
“There’s so many rumors and conjectures and there is nothing definite at this time,” Maez said of the state budget negotiations.
Once the governor signs the budget, the district has 45 days to make revisions to its own budget and bring it back to the board for a vote, she said.
The district’s budget, which required $171,000 in cuts before it was balanced, is the same document that the budget committee has been working on since February. Trustees are expected to approve the spending plan at tonight’s meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
