A man thrown out of a Pacoima nightclub returned and engaged in a gunfight with the club security guard that left four people injured, Los Angeles police said Monday.

Oscar Sandoval, 26, and Inocente Favela, 22, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Paul Haberman said. Sandoval was identified as the gunman and Favela as driver of the truck in which Sandoval tried to escape.

Sandoval apparently was asked to leave the bar at 13535 Van Nuys Blvd. about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Haberman said. Sandoval returned to the nightclub with a .45-caliber semiautomatic and opened fire, Haberman said. The unidentified security guard returned fire.

Three bystanders were hit in the cross-fire and Sandoval was hit twice by shots from the security guard, Haberman said.

Police officers patrolling nearby heard the shots and reportedly followed Favela’s speeding truck. Sandoval was in the county jail’s hospital ward, and several bystanders sought treatment at local hospitals, police said.
