‘Ziegfeld’ Dropped: The Southern California dates for “Ziegfeld: A Night at the Follies” were canceled Wednesday, erasing plans to play the San Diego Civic Theatre, July 21-26, and the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, July 28-Aug. 30. The touring company’s general manager, Stephen Kane, attributed the cancellation to a “dollars and cents” disagreement with the Nederlander Organization, which books the two theaters. Actors’ Equity was considering picketing the non-union show’s local appearances, but all parties agreed that had nothing to do with the cancellation.
