OBSCENE BUT LEAN

Patricia Behr Whitton’s obscene but otherwise lean “The Physical Review,” your poem selection for April 12, has left this old sage in a visible state of perplexion. My lament:

Oh what a fair Sunday morning

Twould be if I only could find

In the Book Review Section a “poem”

That had meter--or even had rhyme.

I’d gladly forgo literation

Or assonance if there would be:

Some semblance of sense

For my sad countenance--

“Is that asking too much?” is my plea.
