A neighborhood fight in Otay Mesa left one man dead and another seriously wounded, police authorities said Saturday.
One man was pronounced dead at UCSD Medical Center after he was shot at least once in the chest about 10 p.m., a San Diego police spokesman said. The identity of the man, who was in his mid-20s, was withheld by authorities pending notification of relatives.
A second victim was stabbed repeatedly during the disturbance in the 3700 block of Clavelita Street. Francisco Rivera, 21, who lives on Clavelita Street, was taken to Chula Vista Community Hospital, and treated for knife wounds in his back, neck, and lower body, said Shirley Trim-Odero, a nursing supervisor at Chula Vista Community.
No arrests had been made, police said late Saturday.
