SAN CLEMENTE : New ZIP Code to Debut This Week
With mail deliveries increasing rapidly in San Clemente, some residents will be getting a new ZIP code starting Wednesday, U.S. Postal Service officials recently announced.
Information brochures have been sent out in the past few months to residents who will see their ZIP code changed from 92672 to 92673. Not all residents or businesses with the 92672 ZIP code will be affected by the change.
Officials say the new ZIP code is needed to help improve deliveries with the rapid growth in business, industrial and residential mail volume.
Mail sent to a person’s old ZIP code will be forwarded by the post office for about one year, although postal authorities ask that people make the necessary changes as soon as possible to avoid delay in mail delivery.
