BURBANK : Airport Panel OKs $25-Million Budget

Share

The Burbank Airport Authority unanimously approved a $25.4-million annual budget on Monday that represents a slight increase in revenues and spending for the fiscal year beginning Wednesday.

Although passenger volume reached a record 3.7 million in fiscal 1990-91, airport officials said passenger numbers and the income from car rental, parking and concession fees are leveling off. Final passenger figures for fiscal 1991-92 are not available.

The 1992-93 budget adopted by the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority is 1.5% larger than the $25-million budget for fiscal 1991-92.

A budget report predicts a 26% drop in revenue from investments by the airport authority due to low interest rates and the use of investment money to purchase land for a new terminal. But airport officials plan to make up the loss with grants that are anticipated from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Although authority members are now negotiating contracts with the airport police, the budget also calls for a 5% salary increase for the police.
