A Needless Expenditure

Share

I am opposed to reconfiguration of the schools in the Simi Valley Unified School District. I believe our present configuration is well defined and functioning with many positive aspects. It is unconscionable for our school board to direct staff to continue to work toward reconfiguration targeted for September, 1993.

At a time when school districts throughout our state are struggling to maintain minimal educational services for our children, our school district continues to spend unnecessary monies. Clearly, our school board is acting irresponsibly if it continues to direct our district to spend any more monies toward reconfiguration. The conservative costs of reconfiguration is a onetime expense of nearly $1 million with an ongoing cost set at $402,605 per year.
