Pop Album Chart : 2 Spots for Brooks but Cyrus Still No. 1

Share

Could Billy Ray Cyrus be the new Garth Brooks? The way he’s been hogging the top spot on the Billboard magazine pop album chart--five weeks now--he’s looking more like Brooks, who occupied No. 1 for months, all the time. Brooks’ “No Fences” re-entered the Top 10, at No. 9, giving him, once again, two Top 10 albums (“Ropin’ the Wind” is No. 6). High chart debuts: the B-52’s “Good Stuff” (No. 26) and Elton John’s “The One” (No. 31). Erik B. and Rakim, one of the most respected rap acts around, jumped on the chart at No. 22 with “Don’t Sweat the Technique.”
