Baldwin Park : Dial-A-Ride on Weekends
The Council has extended its Dial-A-Ride service for elderly and disabled residents to the weekends.
The current weekday service provides an average of 1,600 free rides monthly. Over the past year there has been a rapid increase in demand for the service, said Ralph Nunez, administrative assistant.
The weekend program, which the council voted to approve on Wednesday, will provide 20 additional hours of Dial-A-Ride at a cost of $25,000 annually.
It will be funded by state transportation money.
