Mike Tyson’s attorney filed a petition with Marion, Ind., Superior Court aimed at winning a new trial for the former heavyweight champion, news reports said. In a petition for post-conviction relief, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz argued that Desiree Washington’s main motive for accusing the 26-year-old boxer of rape was financial gain, according to a report on WRTV-TV. Tyson was convicted in February of raping Washington and is serving a six-year term at the Indiana Youth Center near Plainfield.
