The Baltimore Orioles put pitcher Storm Davis on the 15-day disabled list and recalled left-hander Arthur Rhodes, who will start tonight against the Minnesota Twins. Davis had spent the entire season in the bullpen until Saturday, when he got his first start against the Twins. He had not played since and was put on the disabled list, retroactive to July 5, because of a groin pull.

The Florida Marlins’ have unveiled their new uniforms, which include blue pinstripes for home games and solid gray visiting uniforms.

The biggest stir was caused by the Marlins’ alternate home uniform to be worn on Sundays. It has a vest top and short-sleeve undershirt, which will make the National League expansion club the first team to play in a sleeveless jersey since the Oakland Athletics in 1971.

The home uniforms have “Marlins” on the chest in script; the road uniforms say “Florida” in block letters.

The Marlins’ cap will be blue with a marlin jumping through the letter “F.”
