Police have launched a nationwide manhunt for the suspected gunman in the slaying of a homeless man.

Investigators describe the suspect, 34-year-old James Anderson, as a motorcycle enthusiast who may have left the area.

Anderson is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Steven Coyne, 29, in an alley behind a bar near El Camino Real and West Avenida Ramona early Sunday morning.

Two suspects were arrested this week in connection with the murder. Todd Snow, 27, and Matt Dobbs, 33, were arraigned Friday on murder charges. They are being held on $500,000 bail at the Orange County Jail, said police spokesman Sgt. Jim Thomas.

Anderson is a regular at biker bars throughout Southern California. He is described as 5-feet-11 and 175 pounds, with collar-length blond hair. He often wears a thin beard and has a peacock/dragon tattoo on his left arm, police said.

Anyone with information about Anderson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Police Department at (714) 361-8201.
