A 30-year-old Palmdale woman was killed and two passengers were injured Friday when their car overturned on the Antelope Valley Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.

Jennifer Crumpler was driving south on the freeway at about 55 m.p.h. when she swerved into the gravel center divider to avoid traffic slowing down ahead of her around 6:30 a.m., said Scott Carrier, a spokesman for the county coroner’s office.

Crumpler lost control of her car just north of Santiago Road and drove over an embankment. The vehicle overturned, ejecting Crumpler and two passengers, CHP Officer Stefanie McClung said. Crumpler was pronounced dead at the scene and both passengers were taken to Palmdale Medical Center, CHP Officer Michael Wible said.
