Cyclists’ Safety Is an Issue in Helmet Law Controversy
There are a number of controversies associated with the use of helmets for cyclists. Both hearing and visual acuity may be diminished and thus the cyclist may be more prone to an accident. However, there can be no doubt about the fact that helmets limit brain damage.
Similarly, there could be no doubt that cycling is perilous, that the cyclist is virtually unprotected and that hospitals, nursing homes and cemeteries are filled with former riders.
