BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Walker Leaves Game With Injury
Montreal outfielder Larry Walker, named to the National League All-Star team earlier this week, aggravated a leg injury and left the Expos’ game in the third inning against the San Francisco Giants in the third inning. Walker suffered an aggravated muscle in his left leg trying to avoid a tag while sliding into third base in the first inning.
Walker, who leads the Expos with 16 home runs and 53 RBIs, missed six games in June with a strained leg muscle. There was no immediate word on his status for Tuesday night’s All-Star game in San Diego.
