Hollywood Sign Flap
The flap over the Hollywood sign tells me one thing: Hollywood residents have no knowledge of their own history. After all, the sign began life as an advertisement for a real estate development. It has been used for such purposes time and again over the years, and altered by pranksters on any number of occasions. For it to be used to promote a movie, what the town is known for, is perfectly appropriate.
If the locals don’t like it, they don’t have to go see “Cool World.” Just leave the rest of us out of it, OK?
