Girl Held in Scissors Attack
A 17-year-old Glendale girl was charged with attempted murder Tuesday for allegedly stabbing her stepfather in the chest with a pair of scissors during an argument, authorities reported.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Marlene Sanchez said the girl--whose name was not released because of her age--became enraged when her stepfather of 11 years, Jeff Lachnit, 37, asked her to baby-sit her three younger siblings Friday evening.
After the stabbing, the girl called 911 and reported that she had accidentally stabbed her stepfather, Glendale Police Investigator Rusty Hancock said.
