Vincent and the Cubs: A Strange Alignment

Share

Maybe I’m missing something, but if the Cubs “move” West, and the NL adopts the AL scheduling system, the Cubs would play more games against the NL East (12x7=84) than they would against the West (13x6=78); and in either division, Chicago would play 18-21 games on the West Coast.

Well, perhaps the Cubs and their fans will be inconvenienced by other intradivisional games ending later. Makes you wonder how the NL champion Braves have survived being three hours from the West Coast, especially since they are owned by the same man who owns the Braves’ television station.

Peter O’Malley, please do not support the Cubs on this.
