San Diego : Impostor May Be Posing as Officer
The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists to beware of a man who may be posing as a San Diego police officer, a spokesman said.
Shortly before midnight Tuesday a 16-year-old girl was pulled over to the center divider on Interstate 5 at La Jolla Village Drive, Lt. Mark Gregg said. The man, possibly wearing a suit, was driving a brown sedan with a dashboard-mounted revolving red light.
He told the girl he was with the San Diego Police Department, and that she was speeding. He kept her for about 10 minutes and then released her after a warning, Gregg said.
Other law enforcement agencies have been told of the incident, Gregg said.
