An Orange County educator has been named to the second-highest administrative post in the Santa Clarita Community College District.

P. Carter Doran, vice chancellor of academic affairs at Rancho Santiago College in Santa Ana, will become vice president of instruction and student services of the district Aug. 10. He replaces James Walker, who resigned July 1 after six years to become president of Moorpark College.
