*** Jim Hall, "Subsequently," Musicmasters. This Hall outing is considerably more appealing. Backed by a first-rate rhythm team that includes the talented Larry Goldings on keyboards, Hall plays with a fire and enthusiasm that have not always been part of his improvisational past. Especially interesting is his use of unusual strumming techniques on the title track.
