Kindergarten

Regarding the state budget cuts for kindergarten, while I recognize the need to cut the budget to save money, I can’t help wondering if Gov. Wilson isn’t going about it the wrong way.

It’s not an easy decision, but I believe kindergarten is more valuable than the last semester of high school, especially for those students who have completed their graduation requirements. Additionally, parents wouldn’t have the financial burden of finding baby-sitters for their youngsters. Why not cut the last six months of high school for those kids who would rather enter an internship program or perform community service for credit toward graduation?
