HUNTINGTON BEACH : Runners May Still Sign Up for Derby
Early registration is over, but people wanting to enter the 38th annual Huntington Beach Distance Runners Derby may sign up Saturday morning, just before the 7 a.m. race.
The event is a 10-mile run along the coast.
City Community Services Department officials said runners may sign up between 6 and 6:45 a.m. Saturday at the Municipal Pier, Main Street at Pacific Coast Highway.
The cost for registration that day is $13 and does not include T-shirts, which are only available to early registrants.
Total entries in the race are limited to 500 people.
The race will start at the pier and follow the coastline for the entire distance.
Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age and sex category.
