Woman Dies After Car Hits Median
A 48-year-old woman died Monday after her car hit a center divider on the San Diego Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Teresa Martin of South Gate was transported to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo after the 9 a.m. accident, CHP Officer Wendy Lopes said. Martin was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later, according to the county coroner’s office.
Martin was driving south in the fast lane on the San Diego Freeway just south of Crown Valley Parkway when, for an unknown reason, her car hit the center divider, Lopes said.
Martin, the only occupant of the car, suffered massive head injuries.
