Erasing the Past: A Mission Viejo promoter has plans for an eight-hour concert at Santa Ana Stadium that will be dominated by rap music, a style rarely heard in Orange County venues since a shooting and fights marred Ice Cube’s concert at the Celebrity Theatre in Anaheim in late 1990. The “Summer Jam ‘92” show is scheduled for Aug. 22 with a roster that includes Cypress Hill, Kid Frost and Fu-Schnickens. Promoter Carlos Quintanilla hopes a successful concert will help remove what he considers an unfair “stigma” attached to rap.
