PLACENTIA : 12 Candidates Seek 3 Seats on Council

A husband and wife and two former planning commissioners are among 12 candidates vying for three open seats on the City Council.
Incumbents Maria Moreno, a four-year member of the council, Arthur G. Newton, who has served eight years, and Mayor John O. Tynes, a 14-year veteran, have all filed the necessary papers to run for reelection.
Others who returned nomination papers are: Michael Maertzweiler, ) a project administrator and former planning commissioner; Adrienne Edmondson, an organization development specialist; Gary Hill, senior test engineer and former planning commissioner; Betty Mead, a communications center operator, and Mike Stehly, a businessman.
Also returning nomination papers were: Linda Smith, a nurse educator, and her husband, Raymond Smith, a chief executive officer; Edward Nodler, a chief financial officer; and Howard Kay, a corporate executive.
