SAN MARCOS : Boy, 14, Sought in Shooting of Father

A 14-year-old San Marcos boy was being sought late Sunday after he allegedly shot his father during an argument at the family home, according to San Diego County sheriff’s deputies.

The boy, who was not identified, was said to be carrying the handgun he used to shoot his father in the 6:45 p.m. incident in the 1600 block of Grandon Avenue, authorities said.

Officials said it was not clear what the two were arguing about. The boy fired numerous shots and the father was hit more than once, officials said.

The father was taken to Palomar Hospital in Escondido. No other information was available late Sunday.
