Officials at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace will hold a town meeting Thursday night to coincide with President Bush’s speech accepting his party’s nomination for reelection.
Participants will be able to watch the speech on a big screen TV in the library’s main theater. Afterward, a panel of political analysts will provide analysis, said library spokesman Kevin Cartwright.
“We did this for the President’s State of the Union address and it was a big success,” he said.
The panel will include Los Angeles Times political columnist Bill Boyarsky; radio and TV commentator Hugh Hewitt; James Humes, former speech writer for Presidents Bush, Reagan, Nixon and Ford; Orange County Register editorial director Ken Grubbs, and Jerry Warren, editor of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The meeting is free and begins at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited to 300. The library is at 18001 Yorba Linda Blvd. For information, call (714) 993-5075. The town meeting is being sponsored by the John M. Olin Foundation.
