New Stock Attracts Anglers
Hybrid striped bass, a cross between white bass and striped bass, were stocked in Anaheim Lake last week, and light-tackle anglers wasted little time finding the aggressive fish.
Ed Rister of Hesperia weighed in the first, a three-pounder caught on a bullet jig. Peggy Joy of Anaheim Hills took a 2-pound 8-ounce striper with a white sonic lure.
The stripers, which weighed between two and six pounds when placed in the reservoir last Thursday, grow rapidly and reach a weight of almost 20 pounds.
