Another week, another impressive game for Steve Bono of the San Francisco 49ers.

Bono threw a 15-yard pass to rookie Mark Seay with 3:43 left to cut the 49ers’ deficit to 14-13, then rookie Amp Lee scored on a three-yard run with two minutes to play as San Francisco rallied for a 20-14 exhibition victory over the San Diego Chargers on Friday night.

The victory keeps the 49ers (4-0) on track for their second consecutive undefeated exhibition season. They end exhibition play at home against the Seattle Seahawks next Friday. San Diego is 1-2.

Bono completed seven of eight passes for 64 yards on the 71-yard drive culminating with Seay’s touchdown. The 49ers got the ball back on the Chargers’ 41 when John Kidd’s punt went only 14 yards, and it took only four plays to score the go-ahead touchdown.

San Diego quarterback Bob Gagliano, playing only the first two possessions, had a 20-yard scoring run in his second strong start.

Ronnie Harmon added a nine-yard touchdown run as the Chargers took a 14-3 lead. Harmon’s score came on an inside trap with 41 seconds left in the half. The 11-play, 80-yard drive was led by quarterback Stan Humphries, acquired in a trade with the Washington Redskins on Aug. 13. Humphries completed five of 12 passes for 52 yards.
