‘Age’ Will Age: Martin Scorsese’s “Age of Innocence,” widely considered a potential Oscar contender among this year’s Christmas season movies, will be pushed back for release next fall. Columbia Pictures said Monday that the move was made to give Scorsese more time for post-production work on the movie, which began shooting last March and wrapped in June. However, sources said another motivation for the studio was to reduce the number of competing films it has for this year’s Oscars, including Rob Reiner’s “A Few Good Men,” starring Tom Cruise. . . . Denzel Washington’s production company and producers Paula Weinstein and Mark Rosenberg will make the movie version of a New York magazine story, “The Invisible Man,” by attorney Lawrence Otis Graham, according to Daily Variety. Washington will play the attorney who poses as a busboy in an all-white country club.
