PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Shell Recalls Strong Games by Wise
- Share via
Mike Wise, former Raider defensive lineman, who died of an apparent suicide last week, was remembered by Coach Art Shell as a talented player who had problems with injuries.
“He was an outstanding football player who played some good games for us,” Shell said of Wise, who was released by the Raiders in training camp last season. “It is an unfortunate thing. It makes you think when you think you have it bad.”
Wise, who signed with the Cleveland Browns last season but was cut earlier this month, played with the Raiders from 1986 to 1990.
Injuries to defensive back Eddie Anderson (thigh), wide receiver Stefon Adams (knee) and Marcus Allen (foot) kept them out of practice.
