A 7-year-old West Hills girl was killed and three other people were injured Saturday in a three-car accident at a Canoga Park intersection, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Angela Martinez, 35, of Canoga Park, was driving west on Valerio Street when she ran a stop sign and hit a car carrying a family of four heading north on Owensmouth Avenue around 2:40 p.m., Officer George Maycott said.

The car with the family then collided with a pickup truck driving south on Owensmouth, Sgt. Joe Cross said.

A 7-year-old girl sitting in a rear seat of the second car was pronounced dead at the scene, Cross said. The girl’s 3-year-old brother was taken by helicopter to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where he was listed in good condition.

The children’s parents, Jill and Chris Ckezepis, of West Hills, were listed in serious condition at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, an administrative supervisor said.

Martinez, who was driving without a valid driver’s license, was uninjured, Maycott said. Authorities plan to charge Martinez with misdemeanor manslaughter. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.
