OVITZ AND OUT

Share

The most striking aspect of your article on Mike Ovitz (“Eating Hollywood Alive,” by Alan Citron, July 26) is that it doesn’t contain a single comment from him about movies he’s proud to have been associated with, movies he’s fighting for, even movies he himself likes or admires. Has Ovitz noticed that the Hollywood film industry he rules is in the most stagnant creative period of its 80-year history?

A few years down the road, someone else will be the most powerful person in Hollywood and no one will remember Ovitz--unless he should battle to get a few good movies made or give some promising directors and actors a chance to do work they care about.
